Drew Barrymore usually plays bubbly personalities for her roles, but she recently revealed that not everything is sunshine for her. In fact, she is also prone to experiencing motherhood the same way normal people are.

In an interview with People Magazine, Barrymore shared her experience on motherhood, including her struggle with post-partum depression. The mother of two kids (3-year-old Olive and 18-month-old Frankie) shared about how different her pregnancies have been to her. "I didn't have postpartum the first time [with Olive] so I didn't understand it because I was like, 'I feel great. The second time [with Frankie], I was like, 'Oh, whoa, I see what people talk about now. I understand.' It's a different type of overwhelming with the second. I really got under the cloud," she said.

Fortunately for the actress, her post-partum depression did not last too long, as she described it as "short-lived, probably six months". However, despite the hardship, she has been happy about her "perfect and totally imperfect" family life, especially the part about her husband playing his role as the dad. She shared, "Honestly, I don't know how it is for other couples but really I like watching him be a father. I know everyone says you're supposed to put your coupledom first. But I really love it being all about the kids."

However, she accounted that to her personal experiences, adding that "Maybe that's my compensating for not having parents myself or a childhood but right now, the focus is about how we're figuring things out as parents."

Barrymore is only the latest celebrity to open up about her post-partum depression. Just recently, Hayden Panettiere shared that she's checking into a treatment facility to deal with her post-partum following the birth of her fist child, Kaia, whom she gave birth to in December 2014. The news was confirmed by Panettiere's rep via Entertainment Tonight, who said that "Hayden Panettiere is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression. She asks that the media respect her privacy during this time."

Other than her post-partum, Barrymore is also sharing about her "mom body" which she says is not according to what Hollywood wants for her. Despite her excercise regimen, she admitted that she's not too concerned about her body's shape these days, telling People that "I never looked good in a bathing suit, so now I look worse in a bathing suit. I have cellulite. But I would much rather have my kids and look a little worse in a bathing suit!"

What do you think about Barrymore's view on her body, post-pregnancies, and do you know of any other celebrities who shared the same experience with Barrymore and Panettiere on post-partum depression?
